Have you ever made a decision to make a change but found yourself right back doing the same thing and dealing with the same old stuff? Same people? Same thoughts? Same behaviors? Same results? Just the same old stuff but a different day? Do you feel that you are spinning your wheels? When you are feeling stuck, whether it is in your ministry, business, career, relationships, it’s important to look at what could be causing your inaction.

Get up and move forward!

First, in order to move forward, you must let go of any unforgiveness, negative thoughts or excuses that hold you back. Maya Angelou said, “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty”.

Trust me, I can relate. I will be the first to say that I have been back in my closet, ready to do some spring cleaning. Let me tell you. The process we all must endure is not pleasant. It is very difficult. This is where longsuffering comes into effect. For example, I remember growing up thinking that the first reaction to infidelity is gathering your things and moving out either temporarily or permanently. I was never shown how to communicate to talk things out to work things out. I just saw bags packed, lots of high intense emotions, physical abuse, and verbal abuse with trying to comprehend it all. It was only through my own experience that I didn’t want to just walk away only to repeat the same behaviors in a new relationship. Emotional baggage is very heavy from unresolved issues in our past.

Being stuck is exhausting and frustrating. Stuck can cause your dreams and vision to be trapped, unchanged, and always feeling as if you are knocked down. Stuck is a typical response from fear, doubt, uncertainty, overwhelm, chaos and listening to too many voices. I have been stuck before in relationships, making decisions, financially, business and career choices, even being stuck with problems that I didn’t know were problems.  If you are feeling stuck because you’re in fear, the unfortunate truth is that you will probably stay stuck until you are willing to face your fears. And if you’re willing, the next question you have to answer is how.

How do you do it? How do you face it?

The answer? Action.

It’s time for you to get up and spring forward. Spring forward into a new season. You can no longer be paralyzed by doubt, fear and procrastination. Even if sometimes you have to do it afraid.

I am reminded of Isaiah 13:18-19. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Change can be scary and uncomfortable. What areas in your life has God revealed to you that need to change in order to spring forward?

Remember, Life throws us blows all the time. Being stuck is not a position but a mindset. The way to get unstuck is to simply spring forward.
